Bruce has spent his entire career studying human behaviour and applying that
understanding in the workplace. He is one of Australia’s leading authorities on group dynamics, and is the only Australian qualified as a member of the world renowned Institute of Group Analysis.
He trained at global centres of excellence in group dynamics The Esalen Institute, California, The Tavistock Institute for Human Relations, London, and The Institute of Group Analysis, London. He has conducted thousands of hours of experiential and therapy groups in addition to participating in an enormous range of large and small group experiences himself.
He has taught group dynamics at London University, The University of New South Wales, The NSW Institute of Psychiatry and The University of Western Sydney. He now lectures on group dynamics for the MBA course at UTS.
In 1989 he joined KPMG, quickly becoming a National Partner of the firm’s
Management Consulting division. In this role he managed a variety of major change management projects. He has used his expertise in large group dynamics to provide strategic input in the mergers of international banks and pharmaceutical companies
He has applied his unique understanding of group dynamics in providing guidance to IBM, The Royal Australian Navy and George Patterson Bates/Cordiant. He has consulted to numerous boards including those of NSW Government Departments and high profile consulting firms.
